The Lads took on the Norwood Highlanders & the Cincinnati Buckeyes July 31 at Dorl Field. Norwood bested our boys 24-9 but the Lads came roaring back for a narrow defeat in the 7th inning, losing 16-17.

The first game of the season against the Norwood Highlanders was a rainout! Make up date TBD.
The Lads were rained out again on Game 1 of the rematch of last years game against the Cincinnati Red Stockings but Game 2 took to the field and our golden boys gave the boys in red a run for the money!
Final score: Cincy 28, Monroe 15
We couldn’t play ball without the financial support of our friends at the famous Red Onion Cafe. Not only is the food spectacular, the ‘Onion’ is a part of Monroe history dating back to its 1850 roots as a hotel and stagecoach stop.
The Monroe Golden Lads olde tyme (1869-era) base ball season is now underway! With
the direction of coaches Gene Williams, Brent Osborn, Cory Smarzinski, Jason Weidner,
and Chris Earls the Golden Lads are proud to be history in the making as part of
a joint venture with the Monroe Ohio Historical Society.
